A Park Above project, the first fully-inclusive and accessible playground in New Mexico where all children can come together, interact, be included and grow, through the gift of play. Campus Park, with the award-winning sky room amphitheater, was constructed in the City Center and opened in 2021 to serve as a community outdoor gathering space and activity hub. The second and final expansion phase completed 2025.
Broadmoor Senior Center, opened in 2021. Second phase expansion will be completed March 2026.
Opened a new branch library in conjunction with a new recreation center featuring pickleball courts called The Hub in 2023. The last time a new library added to the community was 2006. The last time a new recreation center was added was 2008.
Acquired a new bookmobile in 2025 to bring library materials to community members at various locations and stops throughout the City.
Thanks to voter support in 2022 and 2024, a Quality of Life Facilities Bond was established to improve and maintain parks and libraries.
New, annual community events, such as the Fall Festival and Juneteenth were established, and existing events such as Winterfest have been reimagined.
